Small Sermons


1.
Always everywhere silence attends me...
like dreamless sleep wrapped warm in wool;
like the beauty of an empty bowl.

2.
We're shards of glass,
stained, of course,
with pure light pouring through.

3.
Raging, halted in morning traffic,
I laughed as I saw, at the edge of the windshield,
shimmering droplets of last night's rain.

4.
Water reflected on rockface
keeps writing in light the same thought
over and over.
