Poet, sifter of plankton,
I am sick of cultured coral,
ideas that shoal with tiny dorsals.
I want larger: barracuda, grouper,
eels that snap from mermaid's portals.
I want a ray's tail to stun damsels, clowns,
the Lemonpeel Angel, dressed to flash
in tank-top gallons and aquatic cleavage.
I want to volley seals, arm-wrestle squid,
swash harpoonists in truths pondered
from
the
deep.
