2 leaves from the notebook of a VPDT

Back in 67, when I was a
 ...Veterinary Police Dog Trainee
I found a guy on all 4s at the traffic lights.
"Yap yap yap yap" he said to me
 (not seeing my armband VPDT)

I hit him on the left arm, as per book.
Cured! He stood up, and acted like a man.
A small crowd clapped, and he was led away.

 Medium Danger telephones are red.
Dangerous ones are red, and wider too.
 In a glass-fronted bookcase upstairs
 200 white crash helmets lie.
The projectionist's room lies higher still
I found it on a shelf among the helmets.

A blow from the tail of a VPDT may be fatal.

When man does dance with man
his ear does touch the man's.
