The Paper Waiting

Like white paper waiting for the poet's line,
God's Silence is essential ground,
the first and true note of the Song Divine.

His Word hovers in quiet and rhymes
with deepest longing, heart's desire found,
His word is paper waiting for the poet's line.

Waiting for the day's new song, we incline
our ears to the quiet that gives birth to sound.
Silence, the first and true Song Divine.

Poetry breathes in wide spaces. The silent mind
is white sand where pure idea abounds.
All poems rise from the Song Divine.

From stillness each day gathers. A new design
weaves the world together again in profound
quiet, like paper waiting for the Poet's lines.

Write your life on its receptive pages. Mine
the silent moment for news of God. Unbound,
you are paper waiting for His line,
You are the first and true Song Divine.
